Aston Villa Champions League rivals make shock double managerial U-turn
Bayern Munich won’t continue with head coach Thomas Tuchel after a failure to reach an agreement on new terms, it has been confirmed. The plan was to always bring in a new manager as a replacement but talks last week commenced for a stunning continuation of Tuchel’s stay.

Hide AdFabrizio Romano reported on Thursday that discussions had taken place between Tuchel, his agent and Bayern. If it could be assured full, undisputed confidence was in Tuchel going forward, he was happy to continue, but it appears that promise couldn’t be made as the manager himself has clarified his latest stance.
“This is my last press conference as FC Bayern manager,” Tuchel said on Friday morning. “The feedback from recent weeks was the foundation for us having a discussion to stay and continue together, but we didn’t reach an agreement, so the decision of February stands,” Tuchel confirmed.
Villa could be impacted as Bayern, just like Unai Emery’s side, have qualified for next season’s Champions League. The Bavarian giants will likely be in pot one and Villans will take on two of the nine teams within it during the group stage. The two clubs could also meet in the latter stages if they both progress.
