The Championship is one of the most competitive football divisions in the world for good reason, with 105 different teams taking it on since its formation in 1892.
As the English second tier for well over a century, it has had a few names, but it was first known as Division Two between 1892 and 1992.
After that, it was called the Football League First Division between 1992 and 2004 and now of course The Championship from 2004 until the present day.
The two West Midlands sides currently in the league are West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City, though Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers have also spent long spells.
But how does the overall English second-tier table look for its 130-year history? It would be too long of a read for all 105 teams to be listed, so we’ve gone with the top 50.
Based on the total points collected, here are the standings from bottom to top – as of July 21, 2023.
