The Queen’s coffin will be taken to London where it will lie in state at Westminster Hall for three days prior to the funeral. Members of the public will be able to see the coffin and say goodbye to their monarch of 70 years.

The official date of the funeral is on Monday 19 September and is scheduled to start at 11am. Millions of people will have the day off work or school on the day of the Queen’s funeral. Supermarkets usually open on bank holidays in the UK - except perhaps Christmas - so it is likely they will open on Monday 19 September. However they may operate reduced hours.
