Man suffers serious injuries after double stabbing in Wednesbury near school

Two men have been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being stabbed in Wednesbury today (October 19).
The incident took place on Kilvert Street on Wednesday afternoon at around 2.30pm. West Midlands Police said one man has suffered potentially life-changing injuries following the stabbing.

Hide AdPolice are currently at the scene and a cordon is in place while officers investigate the incident. The incident happened close to the Mesty Croft Primary School, which is located on the nearby St Luke’s Road.
A statement released by the school released to parents this afternoon, read: “We wish to confirm that there was an incident that had occured in the local area prior to the end of the school day. Following information shared with us, we immediately called the police for advice as it was so close to dismissal time.
“We were instructed to continue with dismisal as usual; the police advised that it was a targeted incident and was under control, and that it was safe to open gates and release children to parents.”

A statement from West Midlands Police, read: “We are investigating after two men were stabbed in Kilvert Road, by Moor Street in Wednesbury.

Hide Ad“We were called shortly after 2:30pm and one man was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries.
“The second man was taken to hospital for further treatment, though his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. The scene is being held and anyone with any information about what happened can call us on 101 or via Live Chat quoting log 2593 of 19 October.”
