The Met Office has forecast snow for Birmingham and the West Midlands in the coming days. 

The weather experts are expecting the white stuff to fall across parts of the West Midlands from Friday to Sunday, with the forecast also predicting the possibility of downfalls in Birmingham itself although the outlook is not for the heavy snow showers predicted elsewhere. The Met Office has stated today (Wednesday, February 29) that snow could fall in Birmingham on Friday while conditions remain chilly today and Thursday. There’s a 90% chance of rain later today (around 4pm) with temperatures maxing out at 9° with temperatures dipping to 8° tomorrow with conditions remaining cloudy.

The Met Office snow prediction for Friday says: “Changeable with showers and occasional heavier bands of rain. Some drier periods with sunny spells. Colder than of late with some snow possible, mainly over the hills. Breezy at times."

Saturday:

Light winds are forecasted for Saturday. Expect variable cloud cover, interspersed with bright spells. A few showers are likely, especially in wintry conditions on the hills.

Sunday:

Sunday promises to be dry and bright, with some sunshine making an appearance.

The evening will be cloudy and wet, starting with rain. As the night progresses, there will be a few clear intervals. Toward dawn, further spells of rain will move in from the west. Overall, it will be a milder night, and the breeze will pick up.

Thursday will begin wet, with rain gradually easing from the west during the morning.

The afternoon is expected to remain largely cloudy, although there might be some late brightness. Despite light winds, it will feel colder.
