This is the moment that a drone guided police officers to arrest a wanted man as he fled over back gardens in Birmingham.

West Midlands police received a tip off that the man wanted for threatening behaviour was at a property on Cobham Road, Bordesley Green yesterday (28 December).

He’d managed to escape from officers who tried to arrest him there on an earlier occasion, so a team of drone unit officers who happened to be in the area were called in to assist.

As shown in the footage, when police went to the front of the house, the camera was able to beam back live images of the suspect escaping into gardens on neighbouring Ronald Road.

The drone team gave updates to officers who were able to move to the neighbouring road. As the suspect climbs over a gate, the footage shows the moment he’s confronted by officers and arrested, just before 1pm.

The 30-year-old remains in custody on suspicion of threats to kill, threatening behaviour, and possession of a Class A drug.
