Three arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs in Birmingham city centre

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs after the car they were in was stopped during routine vehicle checks in Birmingham city centre.
West Midlands Police officers were running the checkpoint in Suffolk Street Queensway on Wednesday afternoon (February 3).

Hide AdWhen officers stopped one vehicle the driver ran off but was chased and arrested in a neighbouring street on suspicion of drugs supply and driving while disqualified.

The two passengers were also arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs and large quantity of cash was seized from inside the car.
Two men, aged 29 and 27, and a woman also aged 27, remain in custody as enquiries continue.
During the operation, police also detained four passengers from another car for immigration offences, who the force say will now be dealt with by the immigration services.

Hide AdThe driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of human trafficking but following questioning he was released without charge.
