Three arrested for attempted murder after shooting in Alum Rock, Birmingham

Police have arrested three men after a man was shot in Alum Rock.

One man self-presented to hospital with a gunshot wound to his chest after he was shot on Burney Lane, on June 27, shortly after midnight.

Last night (Monday, July 2) police stopped a vehicle and arrested three men, two aged 21 and an 18-year-old, on suspicion of attempted murder and possessing an offensive weapon.

They remain in custody. A statement from the force, read: “We have increased patrols in the area to offer reassurance as our investigations continue into the incident which we understand will cause shock and concern in the community.

“We are currently studying CCTV footage and are appealing for witnesses or people who may have seen the incident to please get in touch crime quoting crime investigation number 20/555077/23.”
