The West Midlands boasts some seriously talented exports, from movie stars, and musicians and even a Nobel peace prize winner.
Recently, we’ve had a look at the famous faces - actors, musicians and even politicians - who were raised in and around Birmingam. This week, we’ve decided to take a look at the famous celebrities who grew up in nearby Solihull.
The town is a lovely place to grow up for families, with one village in the borough even being named one of the ‘poshest’ in the UK. Solihull also has some of the best schools in the region including Solihull School and Arden Academy.
With this in mind, we’ve taken a look at the most famous celebs who born in the borough.
1. Richard Hammond
The motoring presenter is best known for his role in Top Gear. He has also presented the entertainment documentary series Brainiac: Science Abuse, and the game show Total Wipeout. Hammond was born in Solihull and went to Solihull School and Ripon Grammar School
2. Lucy Davis
Born in Solihull in 1973, Lucy Davis is best known for playing Dawn Tinsley in The Office. She is also the daughter of Brummie legend Jasper Carrott | Getty Images
3. Felicity Kendal
Kendal is best known for her role as Barbara Good in the 1975 television series The Good Life. She was born in Olton, and spent part of her childhood in India. | Getty Images for SOLT
4. Jack Grealish
Manchester City’s midfielder Jack Grealish was born in Brum but grew up in Solihull. The former Villa captain attended Our Lady of Compassion Roman Catholic Primary School and St Peter’s Roman Catholic Secondary School in Solihull. | AFP via Getty Images
