Recently, we’ve had a look at the famous faces - actors, musicians and even politicians - who were raised in and around Birmingam. This week, we’ve decided to take a look at the famous celebrities who grew up in nearby Solihull.

5. Lady Leshurr
Local rapper Lady Leshuur is known for her Queen’s Speech series of freestyles, the fourth of which became popular in 2016. She also competed in the thirteenth series of Dancing on Ice, where she reached the semi-final. The songwriter was raised in Kingshurst

Stephanie Cole OBE is known for high-profile roles in shows such as Tenko, Open All Hours, A Bit of a Do, Waiting for God and Keeping Mum, as well as Coronation Street in her later years. She was born in Solihull in 1941

Michael Buerk presented BBC News from 1973 to 2002 and has been the host of BBC Radio 4’s The Moral Maze since 1990. He was also the presenter of BBC One’s docudrama 999. The esteemed journalist was born in Solihull and attended Solihull School
