A well-known pub in Sutton Park could be saved from closing after the owners announced that they had 'accepted an offer' for the venue.

The owners of The Bracebridge Kiosk in Sutton Coldfield surprisingly announced last month (October) that the upmarket pub was shutting its doors. The pub has a beautiful garden overlooking the Bracebridge pool.

The waterfront restaurant offered classic meals, including steaks, burgers and pizza and customers were surprised when the restaurant announced its closure in October. But in a post on the pub's Facebook page on Tuesday (November 7), the previous owners have announced that they have accepted an offer for the venue from an independent restaurant group that has a 'critically acclaimed chef' on its books.

A statement on the pub's Facebook page, read: "We have some great news to announce, following our closure we have accepted an offer for the Bracebridge from an independent restaurant group with a well known critically acclaimed chef who have a handful of amazing restaurants recognised by Michelin and AA in the Midlands and North West.

"We are at the initial stages of legals and we hope to complete soon. In the coming weeks you may find their team in and around the local area, so please say ‘Hi’ as they are a nice bunch and are looking forward to meeting you all. Keep an eye out for future updates."

Locals were delighted to hear the news on Facebook. One person responded to the post, writing: "Fantastic news! It would be awful for such a lovely spot to close down." Another wrote: "Thank goodness. The restaurant and cafe have been there forever. I would work there on a Saturday and Sunday in the late 70s."

One Facebook user replied: "Brilliant news."
