The West Midlands boasts some seriously talented exports, from movie stars and musicians to world class football players
Recently, we’ve had a look at the famous faces - actors, musicians and even politicians - who were raised in and around Birmingham. Now, we’ve decided to take a look at the famous celebrities who were born in the north Birmingham town of Sutton Coldfield.
Many famous people were born and grew up in Sutton. The town is known as one of the more affluent areas of Birmingham. Several areas and buildings have been renovated into hotels such as the New Hall Hotel, Moor Hall Hotel, Moxhull Hall Hotel, and Ramada Hotel and Resort Penns Hall.
A number of Aston Villa, Birmingham City and West Brom footballers have also used the town as their home while playing for the West Midlands clubs. The likes of Peter Schmeichel, Darren Bent and Liam Ridgewell have all lived in Sutton in the past. It’s certainly a popular Birmingham location for many.
With this in mind, we’ve taken a look at the most famous people who born and bred in the town.

1. Hazel Court
The British film actress is known for her roles in British and American horror films during the 1950s and early 1960s, including Terence Fisher’s The Curse of Frankenstein and The Man Who Could Cheat Death. 2. Robert Halford

3. Lolly

4. James Phelps
known for playing Fred Weasley in the Harry Potter film series from 2001 to 2011, alongside his twin brother, Oliver, James was born in Sutton and is also a big Birmingham City fan | Getty
