Solihull Half Marathon and 10k 2023 - all the road closures for the running event on Sunday August 13
and live on Freeview channel 276
Excitement is building for the 2022 Solihull Half Marathon and 10K run this weekend.
The half marathon and 10k run gets underway this Sunday (13 August), with around 1,000 people expected to take part in the race. A number of road closures will be in place while the half marathon is underway.

Hide AdThe route starts by following New Road into Malvern Park, leaving the park via Widney Manor Road, to reach Knowle town centre. A countryside section through Barston and Eastcote follows, which includes the steeper inclines and declines of the course. The route returns to Knowle before following Widney Manor Road and Malvern Park back to Solihull town centre.
And the 10k follows the start and end of this route, with an earlier turn around point. The route use the same start and finish line as the Half Marathon. Here are the Solihull road closures in full for the race on Sunday.
Solihull Half Marathon road closures
Closure Period: 7.30am – 1pm anticipated timings
- New Road - from Church Hill Road to B4102 Warwick Road
Closure Period: 8.30am to 12.10pm
- Widney Manor Road - from Hillfield Road to Widney Road roundabout
Closure period: 8.45am - 11.45am
- Smiths Lane - from Widney Manor Road to Browns Lane
- Browns Lane - from Smiths Lane to Lady Byron Lane
- Tilehouse Green Lane - from Browns Lane to Longdon Road
Closure Period 8:40am - 11:35am anticipated timings
- Longdon Road - from Tilehouse Green Lane to Lodge Road
- Lodge Road - from Longdon Road to A4141 Warwick Road/High Street
- A4141 Warwick Road - from Lodge Road to B4101 Kenilworth Road
Closure Period 08:45am – 10:40am anticipated timings
- Hampton Road/Knowle Road - from A4141 Warwick Road to Barston Lane
Closure Period 08:50am – 11am anticipated timings
- Barston Lane - from Knowle Road to Hob Lane
- Hob Lane - from Barston Lane to Elvers Green Lane
Closure Period 08.55am – 11:30am anticipated timings
- Elvers Green Lane - from Hob Lane to B4101 Kenilworth Road
- B4101 Kenilworth Road - from Elvers Green Lane to A4141 High Street
To facilitate the above, the one-way traffic movement restriction along the length of road specified below shall be temporarily suspended on the dates and times indicated below:
- Brown Lane - from Moorfield Avenue to Smith’s Lane
