Jobe Bellingham was born in Stourbridge on September 23, 2005. The 17-year-old plays as a central midfielder for Birmingham City, after making his way through the ranks at the Birmingham City Academy.

Aged just 15-years-old, Jobe was listed as a substitute for the Blues EFL cup tie against Colchester United.

He went on to make his first team debut a few months later at the age of only 16-years and 107-days, narrowly missing out on the chance to break his older brother’s record for youngest appearance.

Social media exploded when people began to realise that the Brummie wonderkid was playing professional football whilst his classmates were revising for upcoming GCSEs.

In June 2021, Jobe represented the Three Lions for the first time, making his debut for England under 16s in a 6-0 victory over Northern Ireland.

His England tenure has not been one to miss, as he represented the country’s under 17s side in three matches in October 2022.

2022 marked the year Jobe signed his first professional contract with Championship side Birmingham City.

He has since made several appearances for the team, receiving high praise from club captain Troy Deeney.

Troy Deeney told Kammy and Ben’s Proper Football Podcast: “He’s put on 10 kilos this year, he’s going to be an absolute monster just like his brother is.”

The Blues striker added: “He is going to be unbelievably talented, you can’t deny that, but it is just going to take him a year or two longer than his brother. He’s in that shadow isn’t he. Wonderful kid, wonderful family.”

Jobe Bellingham injury crisis explained

Unfortunately, 2023 hasn’t been the best year for Jobe, as he was sidelined early on with an injury which kept him out for three months.

He returned to the side on  April 1, and made his first start since injury on Tuesday night, in a victory over rivals Millwall FC.

The future is undeniably bright for Jobe Bellingham. Birmingham should feel immensely proud to have bred such a talented figure.
