Birmingham City head on the road for the penultimate time this season as they travel away to Championship play-off chasers Millwall on Tuesday evening. Fresh off the back of a narrow 2-1 defeat at Sunderland, Blues will be eager to get a more positive result on the board this midweek, but some injury troubles are still hampering their progress.

George Hall became the latest Birmingham player to hit the treatment table as he limped off during Saturday’s loss. “He’s got a slight hamstring issue,” John Eustace confirmed to Birmingham Live post-match. “He’s an outstanding young talent and we’re very fortunate to have him. He’ll go for a scan on Monday and we’ll see where he is.”

Neither Troy Deeney nor Dion Sanderson returned to the matchday squad for the trip to the Stadium of Light after returning to training last week, but they could feature against Millwall. Deeney has been impeded by a hamstring problem for a couple of months, whereas Sanderson has had a back injury for a similar period.

Meanwhile, versatile midfielder Gary Gardner and 20-year-old Tate Campbell are still ruled out as they continue to build fitness ahead of the end of the campaign. Other than that, Eustace has a full squad to select from but there could be some slight rotation due to Blues playing just three days after their last outing.

Tuesday’s hosts, the Lions, picked up a fresh injury concern during Saturday’s 2-0 win over Preston North End as Murray Wallace was forced off. Head coach Gary Rowett confirmed to Southwark News that the defender had a sharp pain in his quad, with the initial expectation of “more than few weeks” on the sidelines.

Rowett went on to admit midfielder George Honeyman will miss the rest of the season with a hamstring problem, whereas fellow midfield man Tyler Burey is back in the reckoning to play. The same cannot be said for Callum Styles (quad) and Aidomo Emakhu (hamstring), however, as both are ruled out for the foreseeable future.

Ruled out: Wallace, Honeyman, Styles, Emakhu (MIL); Gardner, Campbell (BIR).

Doubts: Burey (MIL); Hall, Deeney, Sanderson (BIR).
