Ozzy Osbourne has issued a health update to fans amid fears over him being forced to retire due to declining health.

The Black Sabbath rock legend, 74, from Birmingham, was forced to cancel his 2023 UK and European tour - including a show at Resorts World Arena - due to his damaged spine.

The singer admitted he is “still in constant pain” after undergoing major surgery in June 2022.

He has now revealed that he wants to get back on the road but confessed he does not know when a return might be on the cards.

Speaking on the most recent episode of SiriusXM’s Ozzy’s Boneyard, he said: “Well, I’ve been working my guts out to try and get back on my feet.

“So, if I can ever get back to where I can tour again, fine. But right now, if you said to me: ‘Can you go on the road in a month?’ I couldn’t say yes.

“I mean, if I could tour, I’d tour. But right now, I can’t book tours because right now I don’t think I could pull them off.”

The "Crazy Train" performer explained that even if the doctor gives him the go-ahead to tour, it would take months of planning to organise.

"If the doctor said to me today, ‘Oh, you can tour.’ It would take another six months to get it together, you know? The only thing I’ve got that keeps me going is making records," continued Osbourne. "But I can’t do that forever. I gotta get out there,” he added.

The star also hit out at reports about his declining health after the words "Ozzy’s on his last legs" appeared in a magazine.

"This f***ing press drive you nuts. I mean, I, I looked in the magazine, ‘Ozzy’s on his last legs,’ I’m f***ing not dying," he said.

In 2003, Aston-born Ozzy suffered a fall and dislodged metal rods placed in his spine following a quad-bike accident.

The legendary Black Sabbath frontman also suffers from Parkinson’s disease and emphysema - a lung condition that causes shortness of breath.

Last month, he announced that he would be taking a break from touring and said that he had “come to the realisation that I’m not physically capable” to deal with the travel required.
