It’s long been viewed as the city's most creative and trendy neighbourhood witn plenty of creative spitir, so it’s no surprise many famous faces grew up in the south Birmingham area.
The annual Moseley Folk & Arts Festival, the weekly farmers' market, some great community pubs and independent businesses make the neighbourhood one of the best locations to live in the city.
Many famous people grew up in Moseley which has plenty to offer. Moseley village was voted as the best place to live in the UK for city living in 2015, and nearby Kings Heath made the Sunday Times Best Places to Live 2022 list.

1. Nick Rhodes, Moseley

2. Brian Travers, Moseley
The late Brian Travers also grew up in Moseley like his UB40 band member Jimmy. Brian lived on Trafalgar Road before he became the saxophonist and co-songwriter for the iconic reggae band. | Getty
3. JRR Tolkien, Kings Heath
The legendary Lord of the Rings writer lived in Kings Heath as a child after moving to Birmingham with his family from South Africa. Soon after, in 1896, they moved to Sarehole (now in Hall Green), then a Worcestershire village, and later back to Birmingham. He found inspiration for his books in the Moseley Bog area | PA
4. Laura Mvula
Singer Laura Mvula grew up in the Moseley area too. She released her debut studio album, Sing to the Moon in 2013 to favourable reviews, and earning two MOBO awards and a Mercury Prize nomination.
