Birmingham boasts some seriously talented exports, from movie stars, and musicians to even a Nobel peace prize winner.
If you went to the same school as one of Brum’s celebrity alumni, then you’ll definitely have grown up hearing stories about them.
Schools across the region are deservingly proud of their famous former pupils, who have gone on to achieve highly after their time in education.
Birmingham is also home to numerous sports stars, including famous footballers such as Jack Grealish and Jude Bellingham, and also successful athletes who have competed in some of the world’s biggest sporting events.
Birmingham was the centre of the athletics world in the summer, when we hosted the Commonwealth Games, and the city set to host the prestigious European Athletics Championships in 2023.
So, we’ve decided to take a look at which schools athletes in Birmingham went attended.

5. Eboni Usoro-Brown - Sutton Coldfield College
Usoro-Brown is an English former netball player who played for England and for Queensland Firebirds in the position of defender as well as the goal keeper. Born in Solihull, she attended college in Sutton Coldfielf

6. Ama Agbeze - Kings Norton Girls’ School
Ama Agbeze MBE is an England netball international. She was captain when England won the gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. In 2019 she received an MBE for her services to netball. She was also a member of the England team that won the bronze medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

7. Galal Yafai - Light Hall School Solihull
British professional boxer Galal Yafai is from Birmingham. He won an amateur won gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and also competed at the Commonwealth Games in 2018

8. Stacey Francis-Bayman - North Bromsgrove High School
Born in Birmingham, Stacey is a former England netball international. She was a member of the England teams that won bronze medals at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and at the 2011 and 2015 Netball World Cups.
