Birmingham boasts some seriously talented exports, from movie stars, and musicians to even a Nobel peace prize winner.
If you went to the same school as one of Brum’s celebrity alumni, then you’ll definitely have grown up hearing stories about them.
Schools across the region are deservingly proud of their famous former pupils, who have gone on to achieve highly after their time in education.
Birmingham is also home to numerous sports stars, including famous footballers such as Jack Grealish and Jude Bellingham, and also successful athletes who have competed in some of the world’s biggest sporting events.
Birmingham was the centre of the athletics world in the summer, when we hosted the Commonwealth Games, and the city set to host the prestigious European Athletics Championships in 2023.
So, we’ve decided to take a look at which schools athletes in Birmingham went attended.

1. Joe Fraser - Sandwell Academy, West Bromwich

3. Laura Unsworth - Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls
Laura Unsworth is an English field hockey player who plays as a midfielder or defender for East Grinstead and the England and Great Britain national teams. She is the first British field hockey player to win three Olympic medals

4. Layla Guscoth - King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls, Kings Heath
Netball star Laura was a member of the England squad that won a bronze medal at the 2019 Netball World Cup.
