Birmingham is also home to numerous sports stars, including famous footballers such as Jack Grealish and Jude Bellingham, and also successful athletes who have competed in some of the world’s biggest sporting events.

1. Joe Fraser - Sandwell Academy, West Bromwich
Birmingham-born artistic gymnast Joe Fraser grew up in Birmingham in Edgbaston and went to school at Sandwell Academy. Representing England in the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Fraser won three gold medals in team, pommel horse and parallel bars.

3. Laura Unsworth - Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls
Laura Unsworth is an English field hockey player who plays as a midfielder or defender for East Grinstead and the England and Great Britain national teams.
She is the first British field hockey player to win three Olympic medals
4. Layla Guscoth - King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls, Kings Heath
Netball star Laura was a member of the England squad that won a bronze medal at the 2019 Netball World Cup. At club level, Guscoth has played for Loughborough Lightning, Hertfordshire Mavericks and Team Bath in the Netball Superleague and for Adelaide Thunderbirds in Suncorp Super Netball.
