“Don’t worry, no one was singing along... 🤪 The power of love is strong with this one!!! ⚡”

This is a reference to recent backlash Alison faced for ‘making light’ of a riot that broke out during a production of The Bodyguard in Manchester.

At the show, ticket holders refused to stop singing along during ‘I Will Always Love You’, the closing number of the show. Police were then called to the scene which resulted in the performance ending 10 minutes earlier than scheduled.

Alison, 48, reacted to the news that future audience members at the show were being asked not to sing along. In an episode of This Morning, the brummie presenter said: “I can’t believe it. I’d be devastated, I’m not even going to go to that show now.”

She later issued an apology statement regarding the matter on social media.

Since her apology, Alison has announced she will star in Birmingham Hippodrome’s 2023 Christmas pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk. She will star in the show alongside names such as Doreen Tipton and Matt Slack.

She said on an episode of Late Night Lycett: “Being able to be part of the legendary Birmingham Hippodrome pantomime is a dream come true!”
