A quad bike once owned by Brummie rockstar Ozzy Osbourne is going on sale on auction this month.

Ozzy, 74, has owned many quad bikes and was nearly been killed while riding one some time ago. The rockstar’s 350cc Yamaha Banshee quadbike - on which he almost had a fatal crash - went on sale on auction last year in November 2022. However, it was not sold as bidders did not meet the reserve price, even though the highest bid was for £10,500.

Ozzy was driving the 350cc Yamaha Banshee quadbike in 2003 in his 150 acre Victorian estate in Buckinghamshire when he crashed it. His injuries included a cracked vertebra, broken collarbone, a partially collapsed lung and eight ribs. It left him unconscious and temporarily unable to breathe.

“Absolutely no drugs, absolutely no alcohol. It was just a terrible, a terrible accident,” said Ozzy to ABC. “The last thing I remember, what I do remember is I got on the bike and, and something in my mind went ‘bad move. There’s something’s really bad is gonna happen.’ And I go oohuh-oh.”

This time, the quad bike of his that is on sale is a Suzuki Quad Runner 250. He bought two identical quad bikes of this model in 1994. The Suzuki Quad Runner 250 is being sold by a collector - who bought it two years ago. The bike has 1,694 miles on the clock and a pre-sale estimate of £3,000 - £5,000.

The seller, who is based in North Yorkshire, told the Independent that he does not want to be named and he bought the bike from another collector. He added that he has used it a handful of times but “with its history it’s probably worth just sitting on and tucking in the back of the shed and using something else”.

The Suzuki Quad Runner 250 quad bike will be sold as part of the Cheffins Harrogate Vintage Sale at the Great Yorkshire Showground on August 19. The quad bike is a 31 horsepower sport utility ATV made by Suzuki Motors for off-road use and has a top speed of 45 MPH in stock condition, according to WebBikeWorld.
