Birmingham locals called on to open their homes to Commonwealth Games visitors on AirBnb

AirBnB and organisers for Birmingham 2022 have called on locals to open their doors and accommodate visitors travelling to see the Games. They say the demand for spaces to stay in the region presents a lucrative economic opportunity for local residents.

Candlelit vigil planned for gas blast victim

A Candlelit vigil has been planned for the woman who died in the gas explosion in Kingstanding on Sunday. The event will be in remembrance of the woman who was in the house when it collapsed. A man is still in critical condition following the incident.

Motorcyclist dies in collision with two cars

A motorcyclist has died following a collision on Thursday with two cars. The incident took place in Balsall Heath. The motorcyclist - a man in his 20s - suffered severe injuries and died at the scene.

The drivers involved remained at the scene and are assisting with enquiries, however police are appealing to the public for more information.
