Hospital faces criminal probe after man hit by train

A criminal investigation is underway following the death of a vulnerable man after absconding from Priory Hospital Woodbourne in September 2020. 23 year old Matthew Caseby was hit by a train after leaving the hospital. An inquest jury ruled he was “inappropriately unattended” for several minutes prior.

Man dies after collision in Lidl car park

Police are appealing for witnesses following the death of a man who was injured in a collision in Lidl car park in Tile Cross. The collision happened on the 2nd June, but 81 year old Mr Webb succumbed to his injuries on the 11th. The driver is assisting police with their enquiries.

Harborne Carnival returns

Harborne Carnival is returning on Sunday for its 25th anniversary. The street carnival has grown to be the second biggest in the UK since it started in 1997. The carnival has been cancelled for two years due to Covid and this year will be held in support of Heart Research UK.
