A German restaurant is set to open in Birmigham city centre later this month (19 May).
The authentic German bratwurst food brand Extrawurst, which already has a restaurant in Merry Hill, will open its doors opposite Birmingham’s Victoria Square and very close to New Street train station.
The restaurant will operate as a standalone site with a small seating area it will also be supported by a delivery kitchen in the city which offers deliveries via Deliveroo and Just Eat.
Bratwurst has been a favourite at the city’s German market, becoming famous for its succulently meaty, perfectly seasoned, seductively fragrant sausages, and now Brummies will get the chance to enjoy the traditional food all year round.
What’s on the menu?
The Extrawurst menu is completely personalised so you can build your own meal.
You can choose a main (bratwurst, schnitzel, frikadelle), a side (fries, rosemary potatoes, grilled mushrooms or glazed onions), a Signature sauce (curry, mushroom, sweet pepper), toppings and spices.
Extrawurst also has succulent Schnitzels – thin cutlets of seasoned chicken fried in breadcrumbs, to flavoursome Frickadelles – a German delicacy of flat pan-fried meatballs.
What’s been said about the opening?
Sam Shutt, CEO Extrawurst UK said: “We are very excited to introduce Extrawurst to the hub of Birmingham city centre. Whether you stop by for our Authentic German Bratwurst in a bun, a currywurst or even a coffee, we hope that Extrawurst will become a firm city favourite.
“The people of Birmingham will not need to wait till the Christmas market anymore to get their Sausage. As we say, ‘A Bratwurst is not just for Christmas’”.
Jobs on offer
Jobs are also available at the restaurant. Roles range from assistants and team leaders.
