New M&S store in Birmingham Bullring opens to the public

Birmingham’s new Marks and Spencer opened its doors in the Bullring this morning (November 7) as customers queued to get a glimpse of the new store.
The new 68,000sq ft store opened to the public at 10am. We popped down to the store on Monday evening when the shutters were still down as staff members put the finishing touches to the city’s new M&S.

Hide AdThe store is located on the first two floors of where Debenhams was previously, with Toca Social - an interactive football dining and immersive gaming experience - above it.
Highlights of the new store include the food hall, where customers will find fresh displays with produce from M&S Selected Farms, and a bigger than ever M&S Bakery offering freshly baked bread, cakes and pastries throughout the day. There will also be a dedicated M&S wine shop.


The new store is also creating more than 90 new jobs in Birmingham and the West Midlands and follows the retailer’s recent announcement that it plans to invest around £500 million in its store rotation programme - creating more than 3,400 new jobs nationwide.
Bullring M&S opened its doors after Birmingham said goodbye to the M&S on the High Street which closed for the final time on Monday afternoon (November 6).

No information has been released about what the High Street building will be used. M&S also closed its store in Solihull town centre to the dismay of many shoppers in 202 and moved to a bigger premises at Sears Retail Park.
