Kingstanding Just Eat delivery rider stabbed as four boys try to steal bike

Police are appealing for information following the incident

A Just Eat delivery rider was stabbed in Kingstanding last night (2 March) as a group of four boys attempted to steal his bike.

The incident happened in Sidcup Road at around 6pm, where the man, in his 30s, suffered a stab wound. Police said his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A statement from West Midlands Police, read: “We understand the man in his 30s was approached by a group of about four boys who tried to take the bike he was on.

“He suffered a stab wound and was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital, where his physical injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

“We understand the offenders left the scene on two motorbikes and without the bike.“Witnesses are being spoken with and CCTV is being retrieved and reviewed as our enquiries continue.”

Detective Sergeant Curt Wilkins, of Force CID, added: “We’re at the early stages of our enquiries and work is on-going to identify the offenders.

“We’d ask anyone who was in the area at the time and has dashcam footage to get in contact with us. And any witnesses who may have information and haven’t yet spoken with officers should also get in touch.”
