Jemima Khan visited The Mailbox in Birmingham for a special reason on February 15

Writer, producer and journalist Jemima Goldsmith (who is known as Jemima Khan for work) was in Birmingham to promote her new movie What’s love got to do with it?. She was in Birmingham’s Everyman Cinema at the Mailbox on February 15 with Pakistani actress Sajal Aly - who is in the film for a Q&A session.

The film is about a British woman Zoe (Lily James) who decides to film her neighbour’s (Shazad Latif) journey from London to Lahore, where he is to marry the woman (Sajal Aly) of his parents’ choice. Zoe experiences a different approach to finding love - arranged marriage.

Jemima, 49, the daughter of Sir James Michael Goldsmith and Lady Annabel Goldsmith, was married to former cricketer and ex-prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan. They parted ways in 2004 and have two children together.

The 49-year-old writer - who is the founder of Instinct Productions - wrote her first feature film - which will release on Friday (February 24).

Her debut screenplay, What’s Love Got to Do With It?, stars Lily James, Shazad Latif and Emma Thompson. The cast of the movie also includes The Sandman actor Asim Chaudhary and award-winning Indian actress Shabana Azmi. It was directed by award-winning Indian director Shekhar Kapur.
