Handsworth Wood attempted murder arrest after woman, 56, is stabbed

Police have arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was stabbed in Handsworth Wood on Monday morning (9 May).

At 9.25am the ambulance service were called to report a stabbing at house on Beachburn Way.

Police attended and arrested a man who is believed to be known to the 56-year-old woman, who remains in hospital for treatment to her injuries.

The house is sealed off while forensic teams search the property for evidence.

A spokesman for the force, said: “We’ve spoken to people in the area and will remain in the area for some time. If you can help our detectives with their investigation, send us a message via Live Chat on our website west-midlands.police.uk quoting incident number 902-090522.

“If you do not want to speak to us, call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. They will not ask for your name or trace your call, and you may also be entitled to a cash reward.”
