The sale was announced by the UK Government in 2022 to help take pressure off those hit by the cost-of-living crisis, and with prices having risen over the last 18 months, the sale could come in handy for many people.

Great British Rail Sale tickets are limited and subject to availability and exclusions. You will need to book between January and 23 and January 29 2024 for travel between January 30 and March 15, 2024.

We've taken a look on the Great British Rail Sale website to see some of the deals that are available from Birmingham stations to book right now. The below single journeys from Birmingham stations are currently half price.

With discounts on more than a million tickets, there'll be plenty of opportunity to connect with friends and family and explore great destinations across the country – I hope passengers make the most of this sale and choose to travel by rail."
