Bournville’s internationally renowned tourist attraction is the only tourist attraction in the UK to get the top honour

Twenty-six tourist attractions across the country have been honoured with VisitEngland Attraction Excellence Awards for 2020-21.

But Cadbury World is the only one to get the prestigious gold standard recognition.

Designed to celebrate excellence within the tourist attraction sector, VisitEngland assesses all aspects of the visitor experience including arrival, what’s on offer inside the venue, appearance and presentation, cleanliness, toilets, catering, retail and staff.

The Gold Accolade is only awarded to those attractions that offer the very best overall visitor experience.

The Bournville-based attraction received its highest scores to-date in four of the categories - arrival, attraction, toilets and staff.

VisitEngland also made a special mention regarding the Cadbury World team, who they described as extremely helpful and enthusiastic in the evaluation.

The Coffin Works in the Jewellery Quarter was also recognised in the VisitEngland Awards. It received the Best Told Story accolade.

Bromwich Hall - The Manor House Museum in West Bromwich won a Hidden Gem gong.
