West Midlands Police are appealing for witnesses to the fatal incident in Birmingham on Friday afternoon (August 19)

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died in a collision in Stechford yesterday afternoon (19 August).

A man died while riding a motorbike on Station Road - at the junction with Yardley Fields Road - in Stechford.

The tragedy happened at around 3.15pm on Friday (August 19) when the motorbike collided with a car. The 33 year-old motorcyclist died at the scene. The driver of the blue Skoda Octavia stopped and is assisting police with their investigation.

Officers said they have spoken to some witnesses and have obtained some CCTV - but need anyone else who has information to contact them as soon as they can.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, from West Midlands Police serious collision investigation unit, said: “We really need anyone who has not yet spoken to us and was in the area yesterday afternoon to get in touch.

“We have a dedicated family liaison officer supporting the man’s family and my thoughts are with them at this devastating time.”
