Blues fans drinking at The Roost Pub, in Small Heath, Birmingham, were in for an extraordinary surprise on Sunday, when global music icon Ed Sheeran made an unexpected appearance.
Taking a break from his hectic schedule, Sheeran enjoyed a relaxed evening (September 22) at the beloved pub, mingling with fans and posing for selfies.

Hide AdThe Roost Pub, a favourite spot for Birmingham City FC supporters, quickly became the talk of the town following Sheeran’s visit.
Social media platforms were flooded with posts and pictures from the evening, with fans expressing their excitement and gratitude for the unexpected encounter.
The pub also shared that the singer autographed a shirt, signing: "The Roost #1 pub in Britain!
Interestingly, this wasn’t Sheeran’s first visit to The Roost. He had previously visited the pub in Small Heath, on Sunday, April 10, 2022.

Hide AdDuring that visit, punters said Ed happily joined in a game of pool, mingled with the crowds, and enjoyed a pint with rapper pal Jaykae. Footages on that night showed the “Shape Of You” star clutching a beer and enjoying a singalong around the pool table to “No Games” by Serani.
In addition to Sheeran’s visit, Birmingham City FC fans had more reasons to celebrate as their team secured a 2-0 victory against Rotherham United in the Championship League match on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Tomoki Iwata and Jay Stansfield scored the goals that led Birmingham City to their fifth straight win.
Ed Sheeran visit across Birmingham didn’t stop there, he was spotted for the third time at star-studded Asha’s restaurant and calls it one of his favourites.
