Digbeth murder: CCTV footage released of suspect

Police investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in Digbeth have released footage of the suspect.
Jinming Zhang, aged 41, was killed last Wednesday (9 February) at a flat in Moseley Street, just before 7pm.

Hide AdThis CCTV footage, which you can view above, shows the man West Midlands Police is looking for.


A spokesman for West Midlands Police, said: “Although wearing a mask, you can see he has a distinctive walk.
“He’s described as black and is thought to be in his 20s and between 5ft 2ins and 5ft 5ins tall. He is understood to be of skinny build and was wearing dark clothing and a dark hat.
“We also believe he injured his hand during the murder so if you know anyone who fits this description please let us know.”

Hide AdMr Zhang’s next of kin has been informed of his death. A post mortem examination confirmed he died of multiple stab injuries.


Detective Inspector Jim Mahon, from our homicide team, said: “We’ve continued our extensive enquiries to try and establish who was responsible for Mr Zhang’s death and why.
“We understood our prime suspect was on foot and there are people who may have seen him, or even spoken to him, as they passed in the street.
“I’d also remind anyone who may be harbouring him that you are breaking the law and we will take action against you too.”
