A Middle Eastern eatery, bakery and delicatessen is getting ready to launch its fifth and latest branch in Edgbaston.

Damascena - which has branches in the city centre, Moseley, Harborne, and the Jewellery Quarter - is opening its newest branch at Lyndon House on Hagley Road while many other businesses are struggling to keep up with bills.

The coffee house, which won an award at the Midlands Food Drink and Hospitality Awards 2019 in the Independent Coffee House category, announced earlier this year they are moving their headquarters to Edgbaston.

The new office, located in SevenCapital’s Lyndon House, is 1,200 sq ft, according to the developers’ website. Prior to that, they agreed to take a total of 2,570 square feet (sq ft) of space on a 10-year lease to launch its fifth branch.

The new space is being designed by Faber Design and the work is underway. Seven Capital has been contacted for the freshest updates on the opening dates.

Simon Dicken, senior director at SevenCapital, said: “It has been fantastic to work with Damascena and to provide additional floorspace at Lyndon House to support their operational move. The building offers a fantastic location for the business as it continues to grow and expand, as well as providing a further dynamic to the growing café culture within Edgbaston Village. We look forward to welcoming Damascena to Lyndon House.”

How to get there?

It is easily accessible from both inside and outside Birmingham city centre by car or via the new Metro line. The Edgbaston Village tram stop is right outside the new branch. There is also parking available at Morrison’s next door. Multiple bus routes stop at there as well.
