Watch: The dramatic moment security removes PETA protesters from Crufts 2024 at Birmingham NEC
Dramatic video shows protestors being tackled by security during a Crufts protest by PETA
This is the moment security forcefully removed a number of protesters from Crufts.
Footage shows the group being taken from the arena during the Best in Show announcement on Sunday. Animals rights group PETA claimed responsibility for the protest in Birmingham's NEC Arena.
Security can be seen prying a woman off the rails before dragging her away by her arms. A male protestor is also manhandled and removed by three guards who haul him up the stairs by his arms and legs.
PETA said on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Crufts glorifies the breeding of deformed animals. The dog show took place from Thursday to Sunday last week.
“The grotesque standards set by The Kennel Club promote features that lead to long-term health issues like epilepsy, heart disease, brachycephalic syndrome, and hip dysplasia among others”.

In a statement provided to Sky News, a spokesman for The Kennel Club, replied to the claims: "Far from perpetuating the homeless dog crisis as PETA claims, Crufts is a unique platform which educates millions of viewers on Channel 4, about how to get the right dog for your lifestyle, so that all dogs, whether rescue dogs or puppies, have a home for life.
"We celebrated hundreds of rescue dogs at Crufts this year, and have a dedicated rescue dog area, as well as our Discover Dogs zone, which help would-be owners to find the right dog or puppy for them and make responsible choices about this life-long decision."
