Birmingham teenager charged with attempted murder after boy, 16, seriously injured in machete attack

A Birmingham teenager has been charged with attempted murder after another teenager was seriously injured in Birmingham.

A 16-year-old boy was found with a serious arm injury following a disorder in Belchers Lane, Bordesley Green, on Friday, May 17.

West Midlands Police said he was taken to hospital with a machete injury where he remains in a stable condition.

Following enquiries the force identified the suspect and the teenage boy was detained.

The 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with attempted murder, and possession of a bladed article, and is set to appear before Birmingham Youth Court today (May 21).
