Birmingham is buzzing with excitment surrounding the Commonwealth Games which are in the city until August 8.
The eyes of the world were on the city last night as a spectacular Opening Ceremony took place at the Alexander Stadium in Perry Barr in front of the Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall.

Hide AdIt has won heaps of praise far and wide for its imaginative re-telling of Birmingham’s history through a group of athletes called Stella and the Dreamers and a giant, raging bull!

But what did the people of Birmingham think? BirminghamWorld joined the crowds in Victoria Square where hundreds gathered to see the show on a big screen. You can hear all their comments in our video at the top of this story.
There are free events in Victoria Square throughout the duration of the Games, so don’t forget to go along for a look.
