A Yorkshire bodybuilder has died after collapsing on stage at a competition in Telford.
The Physical Culture Association (PCA) confirmed the death of 33-year-old bodybuilder Mateusz Chmura, from Wakefield, who was taking part in a competition at the Telford International Centre on Sunday, October 18.
A PCA spokesperson said that Mr Chmura collapsed on stage during his category, and was treated at the venue by paramedics, a local ambulance crew and the Midlands Air Ambulance team. Sadly, he later passed away in hospital.

They added: “Our deepest condolences go to his wife, family, friends and everyone who knew and loved him.
“Our heartfelt thanks go to the on-site medics, the trained medical professionals from the audience who stepped forward to assist, Midlands Air Ambulance and the hospital staff for everything they did for Mateusz.”
The PCA confirmed it stopped the contest while Mr Chmura received medical treatment, before resuming following a meeting with athletes.
