Boy, 15, charged with murder after teen killed in Victoria Square in Birmingham

Detectives have charged a 15 year-old boy with murder following the death of Muhammad Hassam Ali in Birmingham city centre .
Police have confirmed a 15-year-old boy has now been charged with murder. A second boy, also aged 15 has been released on police bail with strict conditions.

Hide AdMuhammad was found seriously injured in Victoria Square at just before 3.30pm on Saturday (January 20). The 17-year-old was rushed to hospital but sadly later died.
Police had arrested the two suspects this morning on Tuesday (January 23) on suspicion of murder.


Detective Inspector Michelle Thurgood, from the West Midlands Police Homicide Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with the friends and family of Muhammad who continue to receive support from us at this devastating time.
“The arrests are a significant update in this investigation, and we hope this provides some reassurance to people in Birmingham. We are still keen to speak to anyone who was in the area on Saturday just before 3.30pm and would urge anyone with information to get in touch.
