At a time of plans and resolutions, many of us will be looking forward to what Birmingham has to offer in 2024.
As one of the UK's biggest cities, there's always something to look forward to in Birmingham. From concerts and community events, to football and new restaurants, the city has a range of events and attractions that everyone can enjoy. But what's new this year?
To give you a helping hand, we’ve created a ‘bucket list’ of some of the best events and activities that you can enjoy and get involved in this year - whether you're new to the city or lived here all your life.
Here are 24 incredible things that you need to experience in Birmingham in 2024:

1. Try a Michelin star restaurant
Birmingham is renowned for its food scene. The city has six Michelin star restaurants to choose from if you fancy some fine dining experiences this year. They include: Purnells on Cornwall Street in the city centre; Simpsons in Edgbaston; Adam’s over on Waterloo Street in the city centre; Carter’s which is hosting a Pop up at Eighteen at 103 Comore Row in Feburary to March and Opheem on Summer Row in the city centre. | Claire Lishman

2. Foo Fighters at Villa Park
Foo Fighters have announced their return to the UK with a huge stadium tour entitled ‘Everything Or Not At All’ which includes a show at Birmingham’s Villa Park. The tour comes after the release of the band’s latest album ‘But Here We Are’. The band are scheduled to play Villa Park in Birmingham on June 27, 2024. 3. Peaky Blinders film
The show's creator Steven Knight confirmed that filming will begin for the new Peaky Blinders movie in 2024. Knight previously said that the film - part of which whill be shot at Birmingham's new Digbeth Loc Studios - could be available for audiences to enjoy in 2024. Although he recently confirmed that he was putting the finishing touches to the script with filming set to begin this year. This means a 2024 release date might be a bit too optimistic, but it hasn't been ruled out yet. Here's hoping! | BBC

4. Rick Astley at Resorts World Arena
Rick Astley, known for 80’s hit ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’, will visit Birmingham’s Resorts World Arena on his UK tour this year. The classic tune ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ has had over 1.2 billion views on YouTube alone. Astley will return to Birmingham next year as part of his UK tour.
