Parts of the Midlands region woke up to small sprinkles of snow this morning but will the white stuff hit Birmingham this week?

The Met Office has already predicted that we can expect snow in the UK this week as "colder than average conditions" continue throughout the country. Temperatures plummeted across Birmingham over the weekend and some residents woke up to frost and ice on Monday morning.

In Birmingham, it's set to remain frosty this week, with the 'possibility of hill snow' in some parts of the West Midlands region on Thursday, although there aren't any heavy snow showers forecast in Birmingham specifically just yet.

Today:

Rather cloudy to start with a few showers. Cloud gradually breaking into the afternoon to give some sunnier spells though the odd shower still possible. Feeling cold with light winds. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Tonight:

Any day-time showers gradually easing during the evening. Remaining mostly dry overnight with temperatures falling to give fog patches and a frost under the clear skies and light winds. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

Wednesday:

A cold and frosty start on Wednesday with fog patches gradually clearing through the morning to leave a fine afternoon with sunny spells. Feeling cold with light winds. Maximum temperature 3 °C.

Showers or longer spells of rain, with the possibility of hill snow and some drier interludes. Feeling cold with strong winds to start though easing into Saturday.
