The Asian Curry Awards – dubbed the “Curry Oscars” - has revealed this year’s shortlist, and ten restaurants in and around Birmingham have made the cut.
The Asian Curry Awards cover the complete range of Asian and Oriental cuisines: Bangladeshi, Burmese, Chinese, Filipino, Indian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, Middle Eastern, Pakistani, Singaporean, Sri Lankan, Thai, Turkish and Vietnamese.
In Birmingham, curry restaurants are leading the way in sheer numbers with six named as finalists along with two Chinese restaurants, and one restaurant that serves Bangladeshi cuisine. It’s a battle for the top spot between the most popular Asian dining spots in the UK where the long-established restaurants and new ones compete against each other.
The winners will be revealed at the Grosvenor House in London on Sunday November 19. You can still vote for your favourites on the Asian Curry Awards website. Here are the 10 Birmingham and Solihull restaurants in the shortlist:

1. Naya Restaurant, Henley-in-Arden
Located on High Street in Henley-in-Arden, this restaurant gives customers a taste of Bangladesh & India. It’s also rated highly on Google with 4.7 stars from 166 Google reviews. 2. Asha’s, Birmingham city centre

3. Chung Ying Cantonese, China Town, Birmingham

4. Tattu, Birmingham City Centre
Another Chinese food restaurant shortlisted from Birmingham, Tattu is not just great for food but has incredible decor and is very Instagrammable as well. They serve modern Chinese cuisine along with great cocktails. (Photo - Laura McEwan) | Laura McEwan
