Birmingham Moor Street: man arrested after train sex assault report

The British Transport Police made an arrest following the incident last week

A man has been arrested after a woman reported being sexually assaulted while on a train to Birmingham Moor Street.

In a post on Twitter, the British Transport Police, said a woman texted them on 61016 on Friday (4 February) to report that she had been sexually assaulted on the train.

Officers attended and met the victim, while other units were sent along the route to search for the suspect on the train.

The train doors were held shut until officers arrived at the next station and a man was arrested and taken to custody.

The British Transport Police, tweeted: “This Sexual Violence Awareness Week, we’re reminding passengers that this behaviour will never be tolerated on our network and we are taking action #ItsNotOk.”
