No one has come forward with injuries, but they believe someone was hurt and they are specifically urging that person to contact them so that they can check they are OK.

Police are currently trawling CCTV for more information and speaking to witnesses while a forensic examination is continuing.

What have the investigating officers said about the incident in their own words?

Detective Inspector Jackie Nicholson, from our force CID, said: “Our primary concern is to make sure that anyone who may have been injured is okay and receiving any medical treatment they need.

“Guns have no place on our streets and we want to find those responsible for using them.
