The 13 loving Birmingham neighbourhoods where marriages last the longest, including Handsworth

We can unveil the Birmingham areas which have recorded the least amount of divorces over the years

Marriage has been a cornerstone of society for centuries.

The legally recognised union between two people has, on average, actually been declining over the years. Recent figures revelaed that fewer people between the ages of 25 and 34 have been married than a decade ago - a drop of almost 10%.

Birmingham is also one of the divorce hotspots in the UK.

Census data showed us that Brum has the highest divorce rate out of any city in the UK in the age groups 55–59, 50-54 and 60-64. And new ONS figures also revealed the wards in Birmingham with the highest number of divorces, with Longbridge and West Heath coming out on top.

But in which areas of Birmingham do couples stay together the longest?

Figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show the total number of divorces or civil partnerships dissolved in each Birmingham ward recorded within Birmingham’s local authority.

Well, we’ve looked into the ONS data to analyse the wards of Birmingham which have recorded the least divorces.

We’ve looked at the top 13, starting with the Birmingham neighbourhood with the 13th least divorces recorded by the ONS.
