Birmingham man wanted after Malvern hit-and-run

Police are appealing for information

A man wanted in connection with a serious crash in Malvern yesterday (9 May) is believed to be in Birmingham city centre.

Patrick Joseph O’Connor, 28, from Ledbury is wanted in connection with a collision on Abbey Road in Malvern.

The crash involved a green Ford Kuga and a grey Ford Fiesta.

The Ford Kuga was travelling in the direction of Welland and the Ford Fiesta was travelling towards Malvern when they collided head-on.

Police said the driver of the Ford Kuga fled the scene on foot and officers are carrying out thorough searches of the area to locate him.

He is described as a white male, aged late 20s to early 30s, medium build and wearing shorts and a beige t-shirt.

The driver of the Ford Fiesta, a 42-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham by ambulance.

A 28-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice in relation to the incident.

Police want to speak with Patrick O’Connor in connection with the incident.

It is believed he is currently in the Birmingham city centre area.

A statement from West Mercia Police, read: “He is wearing blue jumper with blue jeans and white trainers.

“Anyone with information about Patrick’s whereabouts is asked to call 999 immediately.”
