Three arrested for murder after man riding electric bike dies in Birmingham crash

Three men have been arrested after a man was killed after being hit by a car in Birmingham last night (1 August).
The collision took place at the junction with Moat Lane and Vera Road in Yardley at 11.55pm. Police said the man – aged 22 – was riding an electric bike and died at the scene.
The area is currently cordoned off this morning.

Hide AdThe vehicle involved, believed to be a white Seat Leon, left the scene and police say enquiries are ongoing to trace the car.
Three men, aged 17, 19 and 20, were arrested from an address in Yardley in the early hours of this morning (August 2) on suspicion of murder and are currently in custody.


A statement from West Midlands Police, read: “We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the Moat Lane, Coventry Road and Vera Road areas just before, or after, the collision. We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone with dash cam footage.
“The man’s family is being supported by family liaison officers.
