Man arrested on suspicion of murder after woman found with fatal injuries in woodland in Birmingham

A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found fatally injured in woodland on the outskirts of a city centre.

Hide AdPolice were called to Freeth Street, in Ladywood, Birmingham, after the victim was discovered in a wooded area at around 8.45pm last night (Tuesday, August 1). Despite the efforts of paramedics who rushed to the scene, nothing could be done to save her and she died from her injuries.
West Midlands Police said a man arrested on suspicion of her murder remains in custody being quizzed by detectives today (Wed). Police and forensic officers this morning remained at the scene, which is close to Edgbaston Reservoir and Ladywood Leisure Centre.
