There’s nothing quite like going for a Full English breakfast at the weekend.
Sometimes all you need is a big cooked breakfast to top your busy week. You really can't beat having a Full English breakfast - cooked by someone else - it is simply one of life’s little joys.
So whether you’re an out-of-towner, or a born and bred Brummie, there is a belly full of amazing cafes offering the best breakie - you can go bottomless, too, if you dare! Each of the locations we have selected offers something unique and new on their menus.
But where in Birmingham can you get the best Full English breakies? This is our definitive (yet personal, and very subjective opinion) on the city's very best breakfast spots.
So, let's get down to business. Take a look at our list below for the 9 best cafes, restaurants and bars for a Full English Breakfast in Birmingham.
1. Grand Central Kitchen, city centre
Number one on my list is the city centre favourite Grand Central Kitchen - a small, but easygoing and relaxed eatery serving classic English breakfasts.
Located on Stephenson Street, their big breakfasts will leave you full up and satisfied.
The reason it's number one on my list is because you get real value for money.
The breakfast consists of two sausages, two bacon rashers, fresh baked tomatoes, mushroom, baked beans, and a choice of cheesy omelette or poached egg on white or whole meal bread for £11.95
My friend also had the poached eggs during our visit which looked delicious.
It's a classic, old-school cafe, and it's also great value for money. If you turn up a little later in the day, they also have a great range of baguettes, sandwiches, Panini's & Ciabatta's, Wraps | Tripadvisor
2. Boston Tea Party, Edgbaston
One of my favoutite spots for breakfast in the city is the Boston Tea Party in Edgbaston. Located Harborne Road, and just a short distance from the city centre, it's a nice sport for breakfast, especially in the summer when you can take a seat outside in the garden. Their Full English breakies cost £11.25, and include sausage and bacon, scrambled eggs, roassted flat mushroom, baked beans and toast. I've been here on a couple of occassions and the breakfasts are a good size at reasonable prices. They also have a restaurant in the city centre, although i've not paid a visit to that one just yet. They also do a Veggie Boss breakfast for £13.60 | Google
3. Paul at No 41, Harborne
One of Harborne's most popular cafes, this cosy eatery is renowned for their full English breakfasts , which are very tasty. Their scrambled eggs are delicious and they also do a cracking eggs Benedict. The cafe is small, yet has a nice atmosphere with a community feel to it. It's definitely worth popping in if you're in the south Birmingham neighbourhood in the near future | Google
4. The Rolling Mill, Jewellery Quarter
Situated in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter, the Rolling Mill has an extensive breakfast menu that, of course, includes a proper full English. It includes sausage, smoked bacon, beans, plum tomato, hash brown, flat mushroom, eggs of any style and delicious, sourdough, granary or gluten-free bread. A regular will cost you £10.50 and a large £13.95. They also do a lovely smashed spiced avocado on toast and a veggie breakfast | google
